Deleting your account

You can close your Deploy.et account at any time, from inside the app or by email. Closing an account cannot be undone.

Before you start

An account can only be closed once nothing is still running or unpaid. Cancel any apps, servers and storage you still have, and settle any open invoice. The app tells you which of these are outstanding when you try to close.

Copy your data off first

Cancelled servers, apps and stored files are deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. Download anything you need before you cancel them.

From the app

  1. Open Deploy.et and go to the Account tab.
  2. Tap Settings, then Close account.
  3. Type the confirmation word shown on the screen.
  4. Tap Permanently close account. You’ll be signed out straight away.

By email

If you can’t reach the app, email support@deploy.et from the address on your account and ask us to close it. We reply within two business days and complete the closure within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm a detail on the account before we act.

What gets deleted

  • Your name, email address, company name and phone number
  • Your password and any linked Google, GitHub or Apple sign-in
  • Your saved SSH keys
  • Your referral code, and your progress toward the referral reward
  • Every signed-in session, on every device

What we have to keep

  • Invoices and payment records, which Ethiopian tax law requires us to keep for as long as it specifies. They are no longer linked to your personal details.

Everything else is removed. See the privacy policy for how long each kind of record is held.

How long it takes

Closing from the app takes effect immediately. An emailed request is completed within 30 days. Once an account is closed, its email address can be used to create a new account.
